Fellowship in Orthopedics Spine

Quexst Healthcare brings you the opportunity to train with different experts in Orthopedic Spine Surgery. We offer short duration fellowship of 4 weeks. Orthopedic spine surgery entails understanding of the diagnosis,  treatment, and management of all musculoskeletal conditions of the back, neck and spine. A spine surgeon needs to be highly trained and extensively experienced, to use the most advanced treatment modalities to treat all bone, joint, nerve, muscle and tendon disorders of the spine, neck and back, from simple to complex. A spine surgeon needs to understand the roles of  physiatrists, and use nonsurgical and less-invasive options first, opting for surgery only if necessary. It is important to understand the minimally invasive surgical procedures to treat spine conditions and injuries, and the rehabilitation to restore strength of patients. Spine has Neuro and Orthopedic specialties involved and it is important to learn to understand, diagnose and deal with both, working in collaboration with the neurologist. Typically, the fellow will be exposed to open and minimally invasive surgical procedures, as per the learning objectives defined in the statement of purpose submitted by him/her.

The duration of clinical rotation is 4 weeks.  It is fully practice based, with learning on models and real patients.  Student will be given opportunity to observe, assist based on the capability of the student and permission of the patient. You will receive the course certificate from the teaching hospital. The certificate issued on successful completion of the clinical rotation is not a registrable qualification.

I am Dr Rahul Parmar from Anand, Gujarat and have completed one month Spine Fellowship at Pune under Dr Arvind Bhave Sir in March, 2021. It was really good experience. As I got to scrub almost everyday at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital,Pune. And I got to speak and discuss with other 5 faculties including Dr. Amol Rege Sir . I have learned more things about Minimal Invasive Spine Approach and vertebroplasty and endoscopic spine surgeries too.

It helped me on deciding the cases on routine spine practice a lot. I also went through daily routine rounds. Where we discussed about different kind of management protocols and exercise programs for better patient care.

Dr. Arvind Bhave was very helpful in helping me in case based discussions. I will certainly recommend this Spine Fellowship programme to other colleagues.
