LEARNING MODEL

The online certificate program in Medical Aspects of Obesity Management is developed for all those who are MBBS graduates and above. The program through Evidence based learning approach guides the practicing medical graduates. The course is offered by distance learning method where by the student will log-in on the Learning Management System and study the subject through the video lectures. The course offers full flexibility allowing the student to study the lectures any time, any number of times. As this is an eLearning course, the assessments are done through MCQ based online tests.

The course lectures are delivered through the online learning and assessment platform, our Learning Management system (LMS)

The course duration is 12 weeks. There are 12 modules. On completion of every module, the student has to give a short module end test. All assessments are MCQ based examination. After all module study and assessments are complete, the student gives a final MCQ based examination. On successful completion of final examination, a certificate of completion will be issued. The course certificate is not a registrable qualification.

The student gets a chance to reappear for the examination once if the first attempt is unsuccessful.

DURATION & TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The course duration is 12 weeks from the start date of the course. However, in case the student is unable to complete the study and final examination in stipulated time, on request the student is given maximum additional 12 weeks to complete the course. In case the student wants to continue the study further to complete the course beyond 24 weeks, the student will need to pay applicable administrative fees and continue and finish the course in further time allocated for completion.

Student once registered can not withdraw from the course and will not be given refund of fees , once paid.
The student is given eligibility based on the medical council registration details submitted by him/her. In case the details are false, the student cannot be given course certificate and will not be given any refund of fees.

All Allopathy practitioners, registered with National Medical Commission, India are eligible. All those who are registered with NMC, need to submit their Medical Council Name and Number for eligibility confirmation.

Foreign Nationals need to submit their license to practice for eligibility confirmation.

HOW TO REGISTER

Since this is an eLearning course, we use technology starting from registration process
The steps to be followed are given below:

Send us copies of your Medical Council Registration details( Council Name and student registration no)
Your request with documents provided by you will be sent for eligibility confirmation.
On receiving confirmation, the eligibility confirmation letter along with fees and bank details will be sent to you.
On receipt of fees payment by bank transfer / or payment options, your profile will be created on the learning Management System and your will receive the email with username, password and start up instructions.

1. How do I use the knowledge acquired through this program

2. Is the certificate issued recognised qualification?

The certificate issued on successful completion is not a registrable qualification. This program is for knowledge upgrade and only those doctors having a licence to practice allopathic medicine are eligible to get the certificate, others can get ‘study only’ option

3. What is expected from the student? How much time investment for studies?

We suggest student should study lecture on regular basis. The student should plan to spend about 2.5 hrs per week. This course is specially designed for busy doctors, therefore the lectures can be accessed any time, any number of times. You can study them as per your convenience. Those who wish to, can complete the course in shorter period. but we suggest you give enough time to study to be able to complete assessment tests in effective manner.

5. Does this program cover the surgical treatments of Obesity Management?

This program introduces the concepts behind the surgical treatments like bariatric surgery.

6. Many times Obesity is due to other health issues, is that covered in this program?

There are 12 lectures covering all specialty areas that are impacted due obesity. The program also covers, diet, yoga, exercise and various weight loss treatments. These help to understand how Obesity treatment can differ from patient to patient. There are various factors leading to weight gain, all those are well covered from Treatment perspective.
